Here is the link to my interview with Joel Stanley. Joel is one of the six Stanley Brothers who are considered pioneers in the medical marijuana world.  They are Colorado based growers of cannabis who have spearheaded the MM movement – you may have seen them in Dr Sanjay Gupta’s ‘Weed’ documentaries on CNN (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SZzgfyXhJI). Joel is the CEO of CW Botanicals (http://cwbotanicals.com), their business entity that caters to patients in need of MM.

MM is still a very touchy topic. How do you take a drug traditionally considered purely recreational and make it into one of the most powerful substances that can give substantial relief to chronically debilitated people? How do you muscle through in the face of social ostracism for indulging a stoner culture? What does it mean to see little kids go from 300 seizures a week (that’s 2-3 an hour) to 2-3 a month after taking MM? It’s all there, a bit lengthy but quite impressive in recounting the journey of one of the most powerful stories that I have known.

Disclaimer: I have never used marijuana myself – not smoked it, not eaten it, nor brewed it. I do not prescribe it. In fact I have never seen or touched cannabis. I do not endorse the recreational use of marijuana in any way or form whatsoever. I support its use for medical disorders based on scientific evidence. I strongly support research related to its medical use. I support decriminalization but not legalization. Nothing that I say or write must be interpreted as encouraging drug abuse.
